Arcos Accessories

Under certain conditions, when implementing an Arcos HVN solution in a subscriber home and in order to enable full system performance, additional system accessories (components) will be required.

The principal function of the HVN-S Bridge is to isolate the HVN signal and to couple it with each of the other signals that come from the Quad LNB to the other STBs. The HVN-S bridge accessory is attached next to a Quad LNB when the outputs of the LNBs (LNB1 – LNB4) are connected to the bridge’s inputs. The signals from the LNBs are directly relayed to their relative outputs. In addition, the HVN Signal runs from the HVN-S to the bridge (red F-connector). The HVN signal is filtered and coupled to all other LNBs signals so each STB receives both LNB and HVN signals. The HVN-S Bridge does not affect the Tuners polarization DC control.

The RCC adaptor is a low power consumption modem based on the IEEE 802.15.4 Zig-bee standard. The adaptor is connected to an RS232 port of a Digital STB and communicates with the main RCC unit on the HVN-S. From the STB point of view it communicates through RS232, some TV operators may prefer to connect the RCC adaptor to the Telephony modem port. This solution is applicable as well.
