Introduction
The streaming server application generates several Multi Programs Transport
Streams (MPTS) to serve multiple STB clients as a broadcast unit. The streaming
server application might be located in Digital TV development Labs for testing
and demonstrating their DTV products. The Streaming server application might
be located in mid range video distribution systems such as Buildings, Hotel
Pay TV and students campuses.
Overview
The server contains several DVS-PCI boards, each of them generating MPTS that can serve up to ten users simultaneously. The MPTSs are combined with SI/PSI data streams. The streaming server application actually creates an accessible local DVB network for standard DTV STBs.
Typical topology
Head-End in a box
A simple local PC station can easily simulate a live broadcasting environment and become an entire broadcasting station for the purposes of Digital TV development Labs for testing and demonstrating their DTV products.
