Introduction
The HVN-S can be used as a bridge between IP and DVB network infrastructures. This bridging approach allows the digital TV provider an opportunity to incorporate an IP network thus additionally leveraging the use of their DVB QoS equipment and technologies.
Overview
The IP Home Gateway receives Media streams over IP infrastructure xDSL, WiMax or Optical Fiber, and the Media Streams can be in MPEG2 TS format or could be reformatted to MPEG2 TS. The Streams are transmitted over an HVN carrier to the peripheral STBs that recognizes it as an authentic DVB MPTS.
